In addition, the National Weather Service (NWS) is monitoring a cold front in the Northeast, including in the Midwest and Great Lakes. Americans with travel plans should check the forecasts to avoid any travel headaches next week.

In this week's weather, homeowners can expect localized flooding, heavy rains and flash flood risks. The wintry conditions could add more concerns next week due to freezing rain.

The latest weather forecast explained a potent storm over the Northeast, helping to bring the challenging weather conditions to the region. As early as possible, travelers should anticipate airline delays due to the rainy outlook.

In addition, the troublesome weather could trigger slower commutes to travel disruptions on Interstate 80, 81 and 95. This weekend, homeowners can feel the chilly conditions in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Charleston, Detroit and Columbus.

Early next week, the rounds of rain could unfold in the following areas:

• Chicago
• New York City
• Washington
• Raleigh
• Milwaukee
• Northern Pennsylvania
• Northern New England
• Pittsburgh
• Detroit
• Cleveland
• Cincinnati

In New York City, the recent advisory showed that the high pressure could help with the sunny weather this weekend. However, the weather could change early next week.

On Wednesday, good travel conditions are expected in Memphis, Charlotte, Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston and Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, beachgoers should keep away from the beach due to dangerous surf and rip currents. It is best to wait for the weather to improve before returning.
