According to the latest report, California's second-largest reservoir, Lake Oroville, reached a 100% capacity that significantly recovered from extreme drought conditions and low water.

Recently, parts of California experienced severe drought conditions that affected the reservoirs in the region.

However, a previous report from Reuters explained that the rounds of storms and snowpack in California helped to ease the drought, showing significant improvement in reservoirs.

Lake Oroville's Recovery from Drought

The recovery of Lake Oroville from the drought conditions could help California to bolster the water supply for communities and farmers.

In the latest reports from CNN and Daily Mail UK, the report explained that the snowpack and heavy rain eased the low water in California, especially in Lake Oroville reservoir.

The CNN report noted that the snowmelt led to the 2.5 million acre-feet of water that allowed the lake to recover from the drought or historic low fully.

Lake Oroville has been vital to 27 million Californians. It is also a significant source of 750,000 acres of farmland that supplies water to farmers.

Furthermore, the Daily Mail UK explained that Lake Shasta suffered from extreme drought in November 2022. However, the conditions showed that it managed to recover, reaching 98% capacity.

In the report, the California Department of Water Resources explained that the city also recently had the wettest weeks.

While the snowpack and rain helped with the dry conditions, reports also revealed that it caused flooding in California due to the heavy rain.

Lake Oroville can manage to hold 3.5 million acre-feet of water. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times explained that climate change also played a significant role in California's wet and dry conditions.

The LA Times report added that parts of California and Northern Mexico recorded the driest conditions.
