The polar vortex is now coming back for 2021 in America.

This means, the temperature in all US states are expected to be colder than usual. In fact, the term 'colder' is underrated, the perfect term should be freezing.

Heads up, winter is coming

A woman covers her face from the cold as the area deals with record breaking freezing weather January 6, 2014 in Detroit, Michigan. Michigan and most of the Midwest received their first major snow storm of 2014 last week and subzero temperatures are expected most of this week with wind-chill driving temperatures down to 50-70 degrees below zero. A "polar vortex" weather pattern is bringing some of the coldest weather the U.S. has had in almost 20 years.

Over the next week, specifically starting on Monday, the coldest air of the season will be happening in all parts of the United States.

Experts have predicted that the blast of Arctic air will make the nights of 50 states as chilling as the freezer. Not only that, even the two additional US states like Hawaii and Alaska will experience this phenomenon.

What we're about to experience is called the 'polar vortex.'

What's a polar vortex?

In this satellite handout image provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), shows the entry of a large area of low pressure, from the Polar Vortex, into the Northern U.S. January 6, 2014. The weather system is bringing dangerously cold temperatures not seen in half of the continental United States in about 20 years. It is expected to move northward back over Canada toward the end of the week.

National Weather Service explains that polar vortex is "a large area of low pressure and cold air surrounding both of the Earth's poles."

The vortex term is when the "counter-clockwise flow of air that helps keep the colder air near the Poles. Many times during winter in the northern hemisphere, the polar vortex will expand, sending cold air southward with the jet stream. This occurs fairly regularly during wintertime and is often associated with large outbreaks of Arctic air in the United States."

CNN even explained that the air will be so much cold that there could be frost bite in all states of America, every after 30 minutes.

Not new phenomenon

Experts clarified that polar vortex is no longer a newly-discovered phenomenon. In fact, this cold air has been present every year.

This means, people should not be worried a lot on what may happen over the coming Monday. However, every Americans must be prepared on the upcoming freezing winter.
