The latest weather forecast showed that travel concerns and a stormy outlook can unload in Wyoming and Colorado, bringing rain, snow and strong winds.

The early week of December brought widespread cold in the US, including in the Northeast, Southeast and Pacific Northwest. The winter is expected to become colder than last year's.

In the Pacific Northwest, the forecast said that lighter precipitation is expected in the region as an approaching Pacific front system is expected. The forecast warned of rounds of rain in lower elevations and a mix of rain and snow in high-elevation areas.

In the Great Lakes, the forecast warned of increasing precipitation in the region on Friday. In this week's weather, residents in Colorado and Wyoming can anticipate freezing rain and snow. Damage to crops and plants is also likely.

Weather in Colorado and Wyoming: Where Will Stormy Outlook Unload?

NESDIS NOAA as of December 13, 2023. The National Weather Service (NWS) reported that stormy conditions and travel dangers are likely in the midweek in Colorado and Wyoming as challenging winter comes near.

In the latest NWS advisory, Colorado and Wyoming can expect a freezing outlook, snow and foggy conditions. The forecast warned of life-threatening travel conditions due to the slippery outlook.

In Southeast Wyoming and Panhandle Nebraska, freezing fog is expected this midweek, especially in the South Laramie Range and Kimball County. Homeowners should also check for light snow showers in the Sidney and Cheyenne, which accumulations are only below an inch.

However, the weather is not expected to become severe. Early next week, the cloudy outlook and low clouds will improve.

On the other hand, Northeast and North-Central Colorado can expect a storm system moving across New Mexico. Residents should check for cloudy skies and precipitation, especially at night.

The forecast warned of light snow in the South Colorado, including in the Interstate 70. Snowy outlook can also spread over Southern Lincoln and Park counties.

In the late week, East Central Colorado and Southeast Colorado can expect icy conditions and freezing rain. Motorists must be extra careful in navigating the roads due to the ice-covered roads, especially in the Southern I-25 corridor.

Moreover, the advisory also warned of thundersnow in the evening, particularly in the following areas:

  • Southern San Luis Valley
  • Eastern San Juan Mountains

In Utah, the forecast added that a snowy outlook could unload in the Central and Southern Mountains.
