Post-Tropical Cyclone Lee

Last week, the US experienced the impacts of Hurricane Lee that unleashed deadly heavy rainfall in Eastern Maine, New England, Southeastern Massachusetts and parts of Canada.

As of September 17, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that Post-Tropical Lee could still bring strong winds and rain conditions to Atlantic Canada from Southern Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Challenging weather outlook could still impact in the early weeks in the following areas:

  • US East Coast
  • Atlantic Canada
  • Bermuda
  • Bahamas
  • Hispaniola
  • Puerto Rico

When Lee became a hurricane, weather agencies warned of large hurricane status. While the hurricane threat decreased this week, Americans should keep prepared for possible storms.

Hurricane and storm preparations are essential to prevent the disastrous impacts of storms, especially in low-lying and hurricane-prone areas in the US.

Americans should also stay updated with the weather this September. The recommended emergency kits are the following:
