Weather experts announce that Pittsburgh will start the work week with severe weather, followed by dense fog, and heavy downpours, and by the end of the week, there will be a temperature dip with lows at 60 degrees.

Today: Weather experts for CBS Pittsburgh announce that the area will have a high chance of severe weather. It will start with morning storms, followed by mostly cloudy afternoon skies with just a low rain chance.

Although there are no alerts for the day, there is a potential for alerts to be in effect by Wednesday. Experts say that it has already been assigned a level 1 risk rating out of 5.

Be Alert and Aware!

Over the next week, temperatures are predicted to fluctuate widely.

Even though the likelihood of severe weather is not extremely high, it remains to be a possibility. It would be because of the high wind speeds today if the region experiences severe weather. Experts say that severe storms would occur between 9 AM and noon.

The likelihood of severe weather occurring outside of those hours is extremely low. Along with high wind speeds, these storms can also produce heavy rain and frequent lightning.

The storm chance for today is unusual because it only exists during the morning hours, with the rest of the day only having a remote passing shower chance. The forecast calls for overcast skies and SSW winds of 5 to 10 mph. With highs in the middle 70s, the weather this afternoon should be pleasant. The morning temperature should stay in the 60s all day.

Pittsburgh Week

Looking ahead to the coming week, Tuesday morning only has a solitary chance of precipitation.

On Wednesday, highs could get up into the upper 80s.

Fall officially begins on Thursday, and the weather will reflect that.

On Thursday and Friday, highs will only reach the low 60s, CBS Pittsburgh reports.
