Endangered Mexican Gray Wolf Experiences a Spike in Population
According to a legal filing by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the number of endangered Mexican gray wolves in the United States increased by 23 species from 163 in 2019 to 186 in 2020. The agency's appeal for an extension of time to rewrite its 2015 Mexican wolf management law, which was struck down by a federal judge in Arizona in 2018, is included in the March 10 filing.
