Japan's Passenger Plane Collided with Relief Effort Aircraft; 5 People Reported Dead

An earthquake relief aircraft tragically collided with a passenger plane at the Haneda airport in Tokyo. The plane was seen with flames after the collision, and five people were reported dead.

Authorities in Japan are working around the clock in search and rescue efforts after a powerful earthquake hit Central Japan.

Earthquake relief was also provided by the government to affected residents. However, in the latest report, a Japan Airlines and a quake small aircraft collided, causing a burst of flames in the Haneda airport in Tokyo.

 An earthquake relief aircraft collided with a passenger plan at the Haneda airport in Tokyo. According to reports, five people were reported dead after the collision. Authorities have yet to assess the overall damage. However, the quake damage can be seen in affected homes. In addition, impacted residents had to struggle against power outages and downed phone service. 

Firefighters immediately responded to the flames from the two-aircraft collision.

Initial reports showed that about 379 passengers from the Japan airlines successfully evacuated from the passenger plane. Unfortunately, the five people from the relief plane died from the impact.

The captain of the smaller aircraft was also immediately brought to the nearby hospital.

The planes were burning from fire with thick smoke. Due to the fires from planes, about four runways from the airport were temporarily closed.

The Japan Airlines offered their sympathies and condolences. The 100 firetrucks helped to extinguish the spread of the fire.

Meanwhile, authorities are expected to investigate the plane collision at the airport.

The evacuation was also praised because of the quick response to save the passengers from the airlines.

According to reports, the coastguard aircraft, De Havilland Dash 8 turboprop, was supposed to help with the rescue efforts in the earthquake-affected areas in Japan.

Updates in the Deadly Earthquake in Japan

The deadly quakes in Japan have already killed about 55 people.

Residents also felt aftershocks after the earthquake that damaged buildings and infrastructure in the country. In Ishikawa, an earthquake of 5.6 rocked the region.

Authorities have yet to assess the overall damage. However, the quake damage can be seen in affected homes.

In addition, impacted residents had to struggle against power outages and downed phone service.

The strong quake also caused widespread landslides. About 1000 soldiers were also deployed in the area to help rescue any survivors.
