An 11-month-old baby girl and a dog died inside a hot vehicle after their caretaker left them unattended in York City, making the 26th hot car fatality in the US.

The police are now investigating the incident in Eastern Virginia.

Recently, Eastern Virginia experienced high temperatures, reaching 88 degrees. The heat could make it challenging for people, putting older adults, children and people with medical conditions at risk.
