China's heatwaves

Recently, Nature World News (NWN) reported that extreme weather and heatwaves that could affect animals and crops emerged in portions of China.

Shanghai reached a record-breaking heat in May.

Soaring temperatures could result in drought conditions, which could significantly affect crops and animals.

In the Guardian's previous report, the country could likely experience more severe weather events in the remaining months of this year.

The extreme weather event could dry lakes, as a freshwater lake in Poyang have already recorded low water levels due to a lack of rain and drought.

Extreme heat can also kill crops and animals. The report noted that Jiangsu recorded that the heat conditions impact the rabbits and pigs on their farms.

Furthermore, World Meteorological Organization's report showed that climate change could likely affect China.

Keeping safe from flooding

Heavy rain leads to severe flooding. Homeowners should prepare for possible flooding, especially near flooding areas. The challenging rainfall could bring rapid water rise.

As a result, communities should be prepared for possible flooding concerns in their region, including flash floods and landslides.

Here are essential reminders for communities to stay safe during severe flooding.

Keeping updated with the weather conditions

Communities should keep updated with the weather, especially for possible heatwaves and torrential downpours. Keeping battery-powered radio would be helpful if there are power outages.

Checking your home if you are near the flooding areas would anticipate future flooding.

Immediately evacuate

When there is an evacuation announcement, people should immediately evacuate as waters could rapidly rise.

It is best to turn off electrical supplies and appliances when evacuating. Homeowners should ensure that they bring all toxic or harmful materials to the highest areas.

Wait for an announcement from local officials before you return home. Keeping emergency kits at home would be helpful when you plan to shelter.
