The latest weather forecast warned motorists to be extra cautious to drive during winter storms. Car collisions were reported in Colorado as heavy snow, light rain, and strong winds were unloaded in the Rockies and Midwest this week.

AccuWeather's latest weather news (January 21, 2023) reported road accidents, as many motorists turned stranded due to the weather conditions.

  • In portions of Colorado, the weather report said that 20 vehicles were involved in road crashes due to the slippery conditions on Interstate 70 and 76. According to USA Today, the roads were temporarily closed for snow and debris clearing.
  • In Nebraska, the Nebraska State Patrol said on Twitter that troopers were deployed to help with 30 crashes, and 230 affected motorists. The area also recorded ice conditions and poor road visibility.
  • Meanwhile, heavy snow also occurred in portions of Michigan, raising road travel concerns among motorists. The report said that thundersnow unfolded in the region.

Furthermore, the National Weather Service's latest advisory said the winter storm is expected to move into the Northeast this Friday after pounding portions of the Midwest.

The latest advisory explained that heavy snow and freezing rain would unload in Southern Maine, Southern Greens, portions of the Northeast, and New England, causing dangerous travel for commuters and motorists.

The report added that snow could occur in Southern Plains.

However, portions of the Rockies are not yet over with severe conditions as a new storm could develop this weekend.

On the other hand, NWS said severe storms could also unload in the South and Central Plains.
