Another Rounds of Rain and Mountain Snow To Unload in California This Weekend

The latest weather forecast showed that rounds of rain and mountain snow could unload in portions of California this weekend as a storm could track the area. The report added that the snow could provide the best skiing conditions for ski and snowboarder lovers.

Recently, portions of California experienced two storms that unleashed rain and snow. The previous forecast said the rain would help improve drought-stricken areas in California and improve the air quality.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service advised that a winter storm occurred in the Cascades and Sierra Nevada, cautioning a dangerous travel due to severe weather conditions.

In addition, AccuWeather's latest forecast, on December 3, 2022, showed that portions of California could expect snowfall and mountain snow this coming weekend with a mixture of rain.

The forecast added that a new developing storm could emerge this week, affecting portions of Southern California.

Residents should bring an umbrella or rain protection from the rounds of rain. Meanwhile, the snow could bring colder temperatures to California.

Recently, the forecast said that the astronomical winter would begin on December 21, 2022, as meteorological winter began on Thursday. However, the weather could become colder in some portions of the United States.

The AccuWeather forecast said that wind gusts in the area reached over 100 mph. Meanwhile, snow was recorded in the mountains. The report added that portions of California recorded a snowy beginning of the week, especially in the mountainous parts.

The report explained that the snow and rain caused travel delays, affecting the main roads. The forecast said Highway 50 at Echo Summit and Interstate 80 at the Donner Pass were reportedly closed due to the snow and rain.

Motorists should drive carefully and slowly. Those traveling outdoors should consider the weather situation and check the current weather updates.

Ski Season

As the temperatures are now colder and snow showers, the area is expected to have good skiing conditions. However, the forecast warned that skiers and snow lovers could experience ski disruptions due to potential avalanches.

Skiing has been a main enjoyment this winter, with a noticeable snow accumulation. According to the previous report, the ideal areas for skiers are Central Rockies, Sierra, Cascades, Colorado, Canada, and the Rocky mountains.

The forecast added that the arrival of Arctic air would help to maintain colder weather. However, the report cautioned about slick roads and poor visibility.
