As December begins bringing colder air for the coming winter season, the latest weather forecast showed that residents in the Upper Midwest could expect wintry weather. It could bring rain and snow.

People living in the said areas should prepare for colder weather and always keep an umbrella and raincoat protection to avoid the inconvenience of the weather.

As many are waiting for winter's arrival, December means preparing and planning for the Christmas Holiday. Meanwhile, many could expect the ski season, which means enjoying the snow and colder weather.

In the latest weather forecast, on December 1, 2022, AccuWeather reported that a storm could unleash rain and snow in Upper Midwest this week. The report said that about six inches of snow could unload starting Friday night, as many residents experienced an accumulation of snow last week.

The forecast added that Twin Cities, Rockies, and central Plains reported an accumulation of snow this week. The persistent emergence of snow in the said areas also disrupted schools, causing early dismissal, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the report added that the heaviest snowfall occurred in portions of northwestern Iowa, Michigan, northwestern Wisconsin, and Southern Missouri.

Another storm could emerge in the Upper Midwest

On the other hand, the latest forecast warned another storm could emerge on Friday that could affect portions of the Upper Midwest and northern Plains.

With a mixture of rain and snow affecting portions of the United States, major roads could also suffer from reduced to poor road visibility. It is always important to monitor road developments and plan before going out.

Furthermore, AccuWeather's forecast explained that the snow could unfold starting Friday in Winnipeg, Bismarck, Rapid City, and Billings. Meanwhile, milder weather could be expected in Minneapolis, Thunder Bay, Omaha, and Chicago. The forecast explained that snow could continue in portions of Dakotas, Wisconsin, Michigan, and northern Minnesota the same day.

As temperatures are now colder, residents should not forget to check on their heating systems for maintenance and repairs. Preparing for their layered winter clothes could help them adjust to the winter and prevent health-related risks from prolonged exposure to cold temperatures.

On the other hand, AccuWeather's Outlook on Friday until Friday night showed that snowfall could unleash strong winds and blowing snow. It could affect areas in Rapid city, Winnipeg, Grand Forks, Thunder Bay, and Duluth.

Meteorological winter
