The latest weather forecast warned that a developing storm could unleash heavy rain and snow in the Southern U.S., especially in portions of Houston, Atlanta, and New Orleans.

The storm is expected to persist until the weekend and a few weeks before December starts.

As Thanksgiving kicked in, many Americans worried about outdoor activities and travel due to hazards from the storm.

Reports showed that the storm could disrupt travel activities.

Snow, heavy rain, and thunderstorms

As the temperatures become colder due to arriving winter and severe weather conditions, stormy weather is expected to stay until this weekend.

According to AccuWeather's latest forecast on November 25, the report showed that heavy downpours and rain could result in urban flooding, while the snow accumulation would be unusual in portions of Western Texas and New Mexico.

Residents in the affected areas should take note of the flooding rainfall, especially if they live near the coast, while the snow would cause travel hazards, including poor road visibility.

The report added that thunderstorms could also be expected. AccuWeather's outlook showed that the rainfall would occur from Thursday to Saturday, affecting portions of Oklahoma City, Austin, Houston, Little Rock, Jackson, and Atlanta.

  • The forecast also said two to four inches of rain could unleash in southern Mississippi, Florida Panhandle, and Central Texas.
  • Meanwhile, Georgia and South Carolinas could expect one to two inches of rain.
  • With heavy rain, the report added that portions of southern Arkansas and central Mississippi could expect flooding rainfall starting Friday.
  • Furthermore, rain and potential thunderstorms could occur in the southern Appalachians, Gulf of Mexico, and Atlanta starting Friday.

Recently, the forecast showed that Thanksgiving would expect rain and snow.

Forecast until the end of the week

Always bring an umbrella or rain jacket as the weather could bring isolated rains.

Those traveling outdoors should drive carefully as the inclement weather could affect road visibility.

On the other hand, AccuWeather's latest forecast on Friday showed that snow and rain could affect travel, causing gusty winds, downpours, and slippery roads.

The report added that rain downpours could unleash in portions of Portland, Boston, New York, Washington, Atlanta, Montgomery, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa, Raleigh, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Nashville, Charleston, and Columbus.

While some parts of the United States will experience heavy rain, portions of eastern New Mexico, Texas, Santa Fe, Amarillo, and Lubbock could expect snow.

Starting Saturday, the weather report that thunderstorms could emerge in New Orleans, Jackson, Montgomery, Nashville, St. Louis, and Witchita.

Meanwhile, rain showers could occur in Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Houston.

The forecast added that cold and wintry weather would persist in San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi.

As the weekend ends, the weather will improve, allowing for good travel conditions for those returning after Thanksgiving.

Based on AccuWeather's outlook, good travel conditions are forecasted in San Francisco, Los Angeles, El Paso, Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Kansas City, Denver, Billings, and Minneapolis.

Anyone traveling should observe the weather conditions for potential delays.
