Seattle experiences a temperature drop down to 82 degrees on the first day of August, following a six-day stretch of temperatures above 90 degrees.

Seattle can finally take a break as the prolonged heat wave ends today after a record-breaking six straight days of sweating in 90-degree heat.

Seattle will experience a 10-degree drop in temperatures. Highs this afternoon will remain warm, in the mid-80s. A soft onshore breeze has resumed now that the hot high pressure has descended enough to permit the Pacific's cooling influence to reach far inland.

As the westerly flow gets stronger, the weather will get even better for sleeping. Each morning, a shallow marine layer of cool ocean air blankets the interior lowlands, with lows that are comfortably in the fifties.

Seattle residents could catch a glimpse of some drizzle from these morning clouds, but it won't be common to see much rain this week. The best chance for a free lawn watering is on Thursday when a weak cold front from British Columbia moves in. The best chances of measurable precipitation are in areas north of Everett, with Thursday forecasted as the coolest day of the week, with some areas experiencing temperatures in the 60s.

The small amount of rain that Seattle may receive on Thursday, however, won't be sufficient to reduce the growing wildfire risk.

This weekend will see the return of warm weather, with highs on Saturday and Sunday in the 80s. However, the warmth might not last long because an incoming frontal cold will bring helpful showers on Tuesday before a slight cooling off in the middle of the following week, KomoNews reports.

Air Quality in Seattle

According to AccuWeather data, PM 2.5 and PM 10 have been detected in Seattle's air. Although this is the case, air quality in the area is rated as Fair. This means that The air quality is generally acceptable for most individuals. However, sensitive groups may experience minor to moderate symptoms from long-term exposure.

Allergens are low, however, the cold temperature might be problematic for those bothered by arthritis.

The public is advised to be watchful as mosquitoes are still rampant in some areas even if temperatures are cooling down.

Mostly Sunny for the Next 10 Days

The Weather Channel data shows that Seattle skies will play around mostly sunny, sunny, and partly cloudy with the highest temperature being 85 degrees on Sunday.

The rest of the ten days is graced with temperatures in the low 80s, except for Tuesday, August 2, and Friday, August 5 when temperatures will be 77 and 76 degrees respectively.

Also, another huge drop in temperature will happen on Thursday, August 4, as the temperatures will read 70 degrees.

Chances of rain for the next ten days are very low at single-digit rates to the low doubles.

Nights will be chilly with temperatures reaching the high 50s to the low 60s.
