After receiving the investigation warrant, the NHS found and recovered 88 live and 40 dead animals, including dogs and other pets.

According to the shelter, "some have been badly ignored."

According to KETV 7, Tramaine Thomas, 35, and Sierra Lang, 30, were arrested by the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force on Feb. 14 in connection with the incident.

Based on the affidavit, on Jan. 24, Omaha police officers responded to calls for domestic violence.

Lang is said to have broken the window with a "crowbar-like weapon."

Steve Glandt, VP of field operations at NHS said via 6 News that "The officers arrived on an unrelated call, while they were in the house they noted that these are terrible conditions, that there are far more animals than there should be."

When a team from the Nebraska Humane Society obtained a warrant and went inside, they found 128 animals in horrific conditions.

Investigators said the house was covered in animal dung, making it difficult to get around. For 40 animals ,it was already too late. The NHS team found them dead when they arrived. Some were even stored in the freezer.

"We have ongoing forensic assessments to be conducted. we ought to picture the animals and file any kind of forget issues, injuries, and such things as that, and that each one is going into the package that we present to prosecutors," Glandt further said.

Reasons for animal abuse

Often, investigators believe the atrocities are due to ignorance, so theye educate pet owners and then attempt to re-examine the situation and look for improvements.

As per Science Leader Academy, there are two types of animal abuse, active and passive abuse.

An active abuse means malicious intent when a person intentionally and intentionally injures an animal and is sometimes called NAI (Non-Accidental Injury).

Deliberate atrocities are often one of the most annoying and should be seen as a sign of serious mental health problems.

This type of behavior is often associated with socially impaired behavior and should be taken very seriously.

Meanwhile, passive abuse usually occurs when ignoring animals.

But even if it doesn't sound serious. Some cases include starvation, dehydration, animal infections, animal skin colonization of collars, and even lack of animal medical care.

There are many reasons why people abuse animals. Abuse of animals involves a variety of acts (or omissions), so a comprehensive answer is not possible.

Each type of abuse presents a specific pattern of behavior that can be used to better understand why people commit the crimes they encounter today, as per Wildlife Rescue Rehabilitation.
