Lions Gain Protection Under Endangered Species Act
Two lion subspecies were recently granted protection under the Endangered Species Act by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This decision follows the death of the famed Zimbabwean lion Cecil, in hopes that cracking down with conservation will reduce illegal trophy hunting.
