California grizzly bear. The latest report discovered that the now-extinct California Grizzlies in California were not reportedly massive in size unlike what people first thought.

According to the California Capitol Museum, the California grizzly bear managed to live for about 20 to 30 years. Early documents showed that the grizzly bear was used to attack people and livestock.

The bear population was known for their fierce behavior in finding potential prey. They could quickly run despite of they were over 400 pounds. However, the rampant hunting and habitat loss caused the extinction of the said bears.

Researchers also measured the bones and pelts of the Grizzly bears. In terms of the diet, the grizzlies were found to be vegetarian at first before they consumed more meat.

Contrary to belief, the report highlighted that grizzlies were not bloodthirsty or beast-acting. According to recent reports, the latest sightings of the said bears were recorded in 1924.

Beaver Importance in San Franciso and California

In San Franciso and California, authorities are expected to tap the importance of beavers in the city to fight climate change and improve water quality.

In California, climate change exacerbated the effects of drought and raging wildfires. About 36 million trees suffered from extreme heat in 2022.

Researchers warned of the frequency of rapid fires in California worsened by the El Nino phenomenon. Meanwhile, beavers will play a significant role in protecting and improving the environment and ecosystems.

Authorities will protect more beavers in the city that can help with the groundwater and mitigate wildfire threats. The said animal has ecological and environmental benefits that can save water when extreme drought occurs.

The nature-based solutions can also reduce the economic impact of drought and extreme weather events. The city is also expected to plant more trees and develop policies that fight climate change.

Furthermore, the devastating aftermath of fossil burning can bring frequent rains, flooding and drought. The US can suffer from widespread damage due to the challenging weather conditions.
