The rainy conditions can likely cause small flooding in flood-prone or low-lying in the affected areas. Slower commutes are possible this week due to the wet weather outlook.

NESDIS via NOAA Satellite View as of September 26, 2023. Rainy conditions are expected in Florida, Southern Georgia and Colorado this week. In Northwest California, a strong pressure will bring a cooler outlook

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the stormy outlook can unload in parts of the Midwest, Florida, and Southern Georgia.

The tropical moisture can bring the rainy conditions in the region, with possible urban flooding and isolated flash floods. The concerns of heavy rain can be in the middle of the week.

Homeowners with travel plans should monitor the weather in Florida and Southern Georgia. Flooded roads can happen when the rain worsens.

The dangers of coastal flooding in Florida are also possible. Beachgoers should stay alert for challenging waves or currents.

As of September 25, the advisory warned of scattered thunderstorms and showers in the Northeast and North-Central Colorado. The severe weather outlook can become noticeable on the weekend.

Recently, NWN reported the thunderstorm outlook in parts of Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Cooler weather in the Pacific Northwest

Furthermore, cooler weather is forecast in the Pacific Northwest, Northern California and Oregon due to low pressure in the Northeast Pacific.

Residents can expect beneficial rainfall this week, easing the dry and drought conditions in the region.

On Tuesday, heavy rain is likely in Northern California, Western Washington and Western Oregon. The said areas can experience temperatures 10 to 20 below average.

Meanwhile, a cooler weather outlook can be possible in the following areas:

  • Southern New England
  • Mid-Atlantic States

The cooler conditions will also bring relief from the recent intense heat in the region. However, homeowners should still watch out for potential flooding concerns.

According to the NWS advisory, mild to warm temperatures can likely be in Intermountain West, Ohio Valley and South.

Weather in Southern Plains

On the other hand, average temperatures to cooler weather can unfold in the Southern Plains, Lower Mississippi Valley, Southwest, Rockies and Central Plains this week.

The rainy outlook can help with the cooler weather in the region, especially in the Southern Plains. The upper-level low could unleash a wet weather outlook in the Upper Mississippi Valley.

Flooding and flash flooding concerns

The weather has become cooler in parts of the Pacific Northwest and Southern Plains. It can be favorable for outdoor plans this week.

However, homeowners should still watch out for urban flooding and flash flood this week due to rounds of rain. The most significant risk is people near coastal or flood-prone areas.

In addition, keeping updated with the weather is essential this week, especially for residents in Florida and Southern Georgia.
