US Travel Disruptions: Over 7,000 Flights Cancelled Or Delayed Due to Severe Weather Conditions

The latest report revealed that the severe weather conditions in the United States caused massive travel disruptions, as 7,000 US flights suffered delays or cancellations.

Recently, portions of the Northeast and Southeastern US experienced severe weather conditions, from damaging winds and heavy rainfall.

Americans with travel plans should observe the weather conditions before planning their trip, as severe weather conditions could result in flight travel disruptions, slower commutes and road delays.

Recently, AccuWeather reported the Central United States could become at risk of severe weather and derecho risks.

Based on the weather outlook through Thursday, the stormy weather outlook is expected to unleash rounds of heavy thunderstorms in Minneapolis, Chicago, Memphis and Kansas City.

Meanwhile, challenging heat conditions and heat domes are forecast in Denver, Wichita, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Austin, Lubbock and El Paso.

According to CNN's latest report, troublesome storms emerged in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, causing significant travel disruptions in the country.

Travelers had to deal with the brunt of rebooking and waiting for their flights as delays and cancellations continued.

Based on a CNN report and Data from FlightAware, travel disruptions unfolded in the country: 1,600 flights were reported canceled, while 5,400 flights were delayed.

The report noted that airlines had to suffer from the delays. United Airlines recorded 467 flights were canceled while 1,062 flights were delayed.

Meanwhile, Republic Airways recorded 333 flight cancellations. Airports from San Francisco to Orlando recorded 20% of flight delays.

The challenging weather conditions could affect the flight conditions, causing airlines to reschedule flights due to the severe weather outlook.

Americans with travel plans should check the weather conditions before booking this week. It is also best to coordinate with airlines if you suffer from flight delays or cancellations.

Weather in the United States

Severe weather conditions and soaring temperatures continued to grip the country. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), above-normal temperatures are forecast in Texas.
