New York City Latest Weather Forecast: Rain, Flooding Could Unload This Week Due to Winter Storm

The latest weather forecast said light to moderate rain would unfold in New York City this week due to the winter storm. There could also be a chance of flooding.

New Yorkers should anticipate rainy conditions this week. It is advisable to bring an umbrella as rain would become problematic for commuters.

In other parts of the United States, weather forecasts noted severe weather risks from tornadoes, heavy rain and snow.

• AccuWeather reported that destructive tornado outbreaks rampaged homes in the South, especially Houston and Texas. The report said no one was injured and casualties after the tornado.
• Meanwhile, USA Today added that gusty winds emerged in portions of California. The report said that parts of Los Angeles and Ventura would experience the Santa Ana winds.
• Recently, in Southern California or near the Malibu coast, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake emerged. No casualties or injuries were reported.
• In the Northeast, CNN US reported that it suffered from heavy snow and significant power outages. There were travel delays.

This week's weather conditions in NYC would expect wintry showers, a combination of rain and light snow.

The winter storm in Midwest and Northeast would help bring rounds of rain in NYC.

According to Fox 5 New York, the NYC Metro anticipates rain and snow this week.

• In New Jersey, the weather forecast said that Suxxex County, Warren County, Morris County and Western Passaic County would expect snow and rain.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg said there could be a chance of moderate flooding and rain in New York City and Long Island on Wednesday night.

In addition, the National Weather Service (NWS) in New York City reported that minor to moderate coastal flooding would emerge in Southern Nassau.

The advisory noted that strong winds would accompany the wintry showers in NYC.

Snow drought in New York

New York City has experienced snow drought this winter season. The snow was only a trace and would not be sufficient to bring measurable snowfall in the state.

Many residents in NYC are still hopeful for measurable snowfall this season. According to AccuWeather, the state has not recorded measurable snowfall for about 300 days.

The weather in NYC has been marked by moderate rainfall. The warming of temperatures could be a factor in less snow.

Winter businesses are also impacted due to the lack of measurable snowfall in the state, adding to the low sales of winter items like a snow shovels.
