It was a magnificent view for a birdwatcher who saw the rare bird as the snowy owl is not a frequent visitor in Southern California.

The report said that the American Bird Conservancy found the same bird in Florida, Central Florida and Texas.

Whatever the reason for the bird in Southern California, many birdwatchers were surely happy seeing it.

Snowy owls can be mostly seen in the Arctic or colder weather. Their feathers could provide them with enough warmth against extreme cold temperatures.

Snowy Owl

Based on the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the snowy owl's feet have feathers helping them with the arctic cold weather.

The report explained that the snow owl is good for targeting prey. They could swallow the whole amount of prey if it were smaller, eating lemmings, ducks or seabirds.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service added that the snowy owls cared so much for their young. The report explained that the male snow owl looked for food that he could feed to the young while the female stayed.

The difference between the male and female snow owls could be noticeable. The male looks all white, while the female snow owls have dark specks on their bodies.

Furthermore, the report added that birdwatchers, bird enthusiasts or anyone seeing the bird should keep a safe distance.

According to the report, watchers must not make unusual noises that could distract the birds. Watchers must not also feed the bird.
