On Boxing Day, more snow and ice are predicted to fall in some areas of the UK, and rail strikes are predicted to further disrupt travel.
For Monday, December 26, the Met Office has issued two yellow weather alerts, with snow and ice warnings in effect for much of Scotland.
The majority of Northern Ireland is also under an ice warning.

Between midnight on December 26 and six o'clock that same evening, the entire island of Northern Ireland is under an ice warning, as per Express.
Jim Dale, a meteorologist for British Weather Services, commented on the most recent weather forecast for the UK, saying: "It starts turning colder again through the latter part of Christmas Day and into Boxing Day."
Over the next 24 hours, cold air descends from the Arctic, though it may stall halfway down the country and move elsewhere.
The mercury would drop if the wind suddenly changed directions, according to Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin.
It will be a mild day on Christmas Day, but as the winds change, colder air may push back across the Scottish Highlands and the Western Isles, which could cause some late snow flurries in these areas.
As we move through the night, we do leave the door open for more snow showers to move in.
As Boxing Day approaches, snow showers will be scattered throughout western Scotland.
The Met Office predicts "some sunshine for all" elsewhere on Monday.
Ice warnings and rail strikes set for Boxing Day
As bargain hunters are compelled to use the roads rather than the trains, traffic around shopping centers is expected to increase, as per the BBC.
The AA predicted that 15.2 million vehicles will be on the roads on Monday, but many of them will only be traveling short distances, which will likely be spread out throughout the day.
According to a spokesman, traffic around shopping centers is likely to increase as many people shop during sales and football fans travel to watch their teams.
In Northern Ireland, it will be around 4C, and the Scottish Highlands will reach -4C (24.8F).
According to Network Rail, the UK's railways will remain closed for a second day as a result of a walkout by workers who are RMT union members.
According to Merseyrail's website, trains will run from roughly 09:00 to 18:30 and only stop at specific stations as part of a half-hourly service across its network in Merseyside.
There will be no Boxing Day services offered by ScotRail in the Strathclyde region this year.
On Boxing Day of last year, Northern ran a service between Liverpool Lime Street and St Helens Central, but the company has announced there won't be any trains running on Monday.
Except for some airport transfer services like the Stansted Express and Heathrow Express, trains typically do not run on Christmas Day.
Instead, if a person needs public transportation on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, they can use the Megabus or National Express bus services.
People who want to leave for a holiday vacation will need to find alternate means of transportation to and from the UK's airports.
On Boxing Day, airport transfers, including the Heathrow Express and Stansted Express, are frequently the most in demand.
The RAC also identified two sections of the M25 as potential traffic bottlenecks: clockwise from junction 7 to junction 16 and anticlockwise from junction 4 to junction 1.
