Ice conditions this weekend

Furthermore, AccuWeather's latest forecast (December 23, 2022) showed that an ice storm could unload this Saturday night, causing extremely dangerous commutes, travel delays and power outages, affecting portions of Olympia, Bend and Portland.

Residents in Portland and Seattle should observe the ice conditions, especially those planning to travel.

AccuWeather's forecast said that residents in Washington, Astoria, Salem and Portland could expect ice accumulation.

As many Americans were rushing the Holiday, the ice conditions could bring slowed commutes and delays in travel. The weather has been challenging since early December, unloading heavy snow and rain.

  • The forecast explained that Portland could expect up to lower 50s temperatures on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. On Friday, east of Portland could notice freezing weather.
  • AccuWeather's travel outlook also showed that good to poor conditions could emerge. A good travel outlook is set on Friday in Los Angeles and Houston. Meanwhile, fair travel conditions could happen in Denver, Charlotte and Salt Lake City. On the other hand, poor travel conditions will be in Detroit, Seattle and New York.

Colder Weather and Freeze Watch

The National Weather Service Prediction Center added that a storm could impact portions of the East Coast.

On the other hand, due to the freezing temperatures, the NWS Advisory that a Freeze watch has been issued for Glades Country until December 24, 2022. The report advised residents to stay indoors, bring their pets inside, and protect sensitive plants from colder weather.
