Heavy rain could also result in flooding that could disrupt major roads in the United States. As a result, getting safe on the road is important, especially if you and your family are set for travel activity.

Check the weather.

Weather forecasts advise motorists always to check current weather development or conditions. Travel hazards and storm and hurricane watches are also announced.

Knowing the current weather forecast could help you prepare for the coming storm. You can reschedule your trip or avoid areas with severe weather conditions, especially if the road is near or in mountainous or landslide-prone areas.

Check your vehicle

Carefully checking your vehicle for potential damage and preparedness for road trips or commute is important as the storm could cause flooding on main roads.

Part of checking is the car's camera and making sure your mobile phones are fully charged.

Stay at home if needed.

If the storm becomes severe, affecting road commutes, it would be best to cancel your trip to the nearest day without severe weather conditions.
