A new toothbrush will help people correct bad brushing techniques.

The new iBrush 365 consists of a spinning circular brush head that allows users to brush from the gums towards the teeth.

iBrands Technologies, the U.S.-based company behind iBrush 365, follows dental experts' advice concerning proper brushing techniques.

"[iBrush 365 allows people] to brush in ways the dentist wants, without changing our old habits," Alexander Kandemir, inventor of the iBrush 365, told Live Science.

Most people hold their toothbrushes perpendicular to their teeth and gums. However, this may cause the teeth to pull away from the gums and result in gum disease, Kandemir said.

The iBrush 365's cylindrical head is loaded with over 13,000 soft micro bristles, compared to the standard manual toothbrush's 2,500, and spins at 200-400 rpm. The brush is said to effectively clean the entire mouth within minutes, including the cheeks and the tongue.

Kandemir said that the brush's rotating head ensures that the teeth are brushed downwards and that the bristles are at a 45-degree angle to the gums. The head of the brush rotates in either direction and can be changed by simply pressing the button while keeping the movement downward.

According to iBrands, the iBrush 365 is designed to prevent bleeding and receding along the gum area, which results to improved gum health. It also said that the toothbrush could remove plaque from hard-to-reach places, as well as remove up to 99 percent teeth stains.

According to the company website, iBrush 365 is also equipped with a lithium-ion battery that could last six weeks on a single charge. The device can be charged via a wall plug or a micro USB cable.

Kandemir said that the iBrush 365 was tested by over 300 people, and the results showed that it is the most effective brush in the market.

The iBrush 365 raised over $29,000 via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Consumers can preorder the brush on the company's website for $79, and shipping is expected this June.
