More Than 1,000 Sea Lion Pups Washed Ashore In California, 'Unusual Mortality Event' Declared [VIDEO]
In the first three months of the year more than 1,000 sea lion pups have washed ashore in Southern California. The historical average for the same time period is 131. Researchers aren't sure why this is happening, but suspect a lack of food to be one reason.
