UK Weather: Heavy Rain Triggers More Than 150 Flood Alerts
More than 150 flood alerts have been issued across the country as the Met Office warned of heavy rain and ice. Schools closed across the South West and Cumbria and flooding caused disruption to motorists and rail passengers on Monday. The Environment Agency has so far issued 56 flood warnings, which mean flooding is ‘expected’ in that area, and 171 flood alerts, which consider flooding ‘possible’.
