The latest weather forecast reported of possible thunderstorms and excessive rainfall that would unload in parts of Oklahoma, Midwest and Texas this week.

Americans with travel plans should check the latest weather forecast in their areas due to potential heavy rain and flash flood risks.

Before September ends, the flooding rainfall in the South can also ease the dry conditions in the region. However, Americans in flood-prone areas are at risk of possible flooding.

Weather in the Midwest

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a front in the Northern Plains, Mississippi Valley and Southern Plains is expected to weaken on Monday.

The advisory added that potential thunderstorms and rain could unload in Upper Mississippi Valley, Lower Mississippi Valley and Southern Plains on Monday.

A slight weather risk is present in the Southern Plains and parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley. The forecast warned of challenging wind gusts, isolated tornadoes and thunderstorms.

Recently, NWN reported severe thunderstorms with isolated tornadoes were likely in Oklahoma, Kansas City, Texas and Plains.

Kansas also recorded a multi-vortex tornado with damaging winds.

This week, the poor weather conditions are expected to continue.

The thunderstorm outlook and heavy rainfall are forecast in the following areas on Monday:

  • Northwestern Louisiana
  • Northeastern Texas
  • Southwestern Arkansas

The weather conditions will also occur in the Southeast and parts of the Central Gulf Coast.

Meanwhile, the Upper-level low in portions of the Upper Midwest can help unleash rounds of thunderstorms in the region on Monday.

In Eastern Texas, an upper level could unleash high temperatures. Heat advisories are also present in the affected areas.

Southern Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota can anticipate potential rain on Monday. Residents with travel plans are advised to bring raincoat protection or a small umbrella.

Meanwhile, California residents can also notice a possible reduced air quality in the Central portions due to wildfire smoke. The advisory showed that Air Quality Warnings are present in Central California.
