Rain, Snow To Unload in Portions of Northeast This Week; Snowfall To Unfold in New York, Michigan

The latest weather forecast said the Northeast would experience light to moderate snow and rain this week.

Snowfall is forecast to unload in New York City and Michigan.

Residents and motorists in the Northeast should bring an umbrella and raincoat protection as rounds of rain will unload starting Monday.

According to the latest AccuWeather forecast this January 23, 2023, the weather agency reported that wintry showers are expected in the Northeast this week.

The rain and snow would not be strong enough to bring measurable snowfall in portions of the Northeast.

AccuWeather reported that snowfall would unfold in Cincinnati, Detroit, Pittsburg, Syracuse, Montreal, New York City (NYC), Boston, and Bangor.

• The forecast added that Maine, New York City, Northwestern Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan residents could expect a high chance of snow.
• On the contrary, the forecast added that communities near the Interstate 95 would anticipate no snow to light this week.
• The report said that snowfall is expected in Indianapolis, Detroit, Pittsburg, Syracuse, and Bangor on Tuesday night.

The weather forecast said the snow would be light, but it could still bring colder air, especially at night.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service (NWS) recent advisory said that NYC could look forward to scattered rain and snow on Monday.

In addition, the NYS New York advised residents to be careful with coastal flooding.

 From Tuesday to Thursday night,the weather forecast said rain and possible snow would unload.

• Rain with possible thunderstorms would dump in Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Washington, New York, Boston and Atlanta.
• In addition, there could be a chance of snow in Memphis, Kansas City, Chicago and Burlington.
• People traveling to Interstate 95 and snowy areas should anticipate the roads with reduced visibility.
• More snow is expected in New England and Southeastern Canada.

Although the snow is light, the forecast said that it could still result in travel delays and disruptions.

Motorists should look into the weather before traveling. It is best to drive slowly on the road as wet snow could be dangerous.

On the other hand, the NWS said that a storm system is forecast to develop in the Southwest.

The storm system is expected to become a winter storm on Tuesday, reaching over the Southern Plains.

Lack of measurable snow

New York City has yet to record a measurable snowfall, with snow drought conditions in portions of the Northeast.

However, many residents and motorists are still optimistic about measurable snowfall this season.

In addition, the lack of measurable snow in New York has disappointed many residents and businesses. The snow drought affected the sales of winter items. 

Forecasts said that the rain would be most noticeable this week, with light snow.

Recently, NYC suffered from heavy lake-effect snow, resulting in significant travel restrictions.
