Suzu, Ishikawa prefecture on May 6, 2023. The latest reports showed that a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Japan on Friday. No tsunamis and casualties were reported, but bullet trains were temporarily halted due to a power outage.

Based on the latest reports, AccuWeather reported the 6.2 magnitude earthquake was also felt in parts of Tokyo.

Kyodo News reported that the earthquake also impacted parts of eastern Japan. The report said that the earthquake unfolded on Friday (7:03 pm).

The earthquake registered a lower five based on the Japan's intensity scale. AccuWeather added that the earthquake's epicenter was on the Chiba's coast, with a 31 miles dept.

Meanwhile, the said reports said that bullet trains were affected in Joetsu, Hokuriku and Tohoku lines which resulted in the train operations being halted for around 10 minutes.

Furthermore, AccuWeather reported minor injuries after five people had injuries in Chiba and two in Kanagawa Prefecture.

In Central Tokyo, Saitama and Yokohama, the report recorded an intensity of three after the earthquake struck the country.

In the same month, a 5.2 earthquake rocked eastern Japan on May 11, 2023, according to The Japan Times.

The report said that no tsunamis were reported after the quake.
