According to the Guardian's latest report (January 23, 2023), the challenging weather conditions in the UK resulted in significant flight travel disruptions.

The weather forecast said severe conditions are expected to unfold in south-eastern England, Northern Scotland, Northern Ireland and Heathrow.

The Guardian reported that the freezing fog resulted in poor visibility, affecting flight travel. The challenging weather became difficult for the aircraft to navigate.

Meanwhile, British Airways apologized to the affected people due to the flight delays and cancellations.

According to BBC News, British Airlines canceled about 80 flights due to the challenging weather.

Met Office's weather forecast

On the other hand, the Met Office reported on the five-day weather forecast that freezing fog would continue in portions of England and Wales.

 On Wednesday, the weather forecast reported that portions of Scotland and Southern England would experience cloudy and rainy conditions.

 The UK could expect fog patches from Thursday to Saturday, while windy conditions would unfold in the northern parts.

Meanwhile, forecasts added that the polar vortex would help bring colder temperatures to the UK.

The country's cold snap and cold weather would result in health concerns, especially for those who could be vulnerable to colder weather.

In the previous report, road crashes were recorded in the UK due to the ice and freezing conditions. Motorists had to deal with slower commutes, as the slipper road would become extremely dangerous.

More electricity consumption during winter
