The week will be muggy for most of Florida starting Monday night. Threats of gusty winds and heavy rains hover over various areas until the end of the week.

Today's forecast high for Orlando is 92 degrees and the forecast low for tonight is 75 degrees.

Central Florida

Highs in the afternoon will continue to be close to normal, with low 90s in the interior and upper 80s along the east coast. A weak front is still passing over Florida. As a result, Central Florida will experience slow-moving storms this afternoon. The southern viewing area will have the best possible chance of seeing storms.

The most likely dangers will be heavy rain showers, lightning, and strong winds. By early afternoon, storms will start to form, and by late evening, they will start to break up.

Another muggy day with isolated storms through the afternoon for places like Universal Studios, Seaworld, and Disney World. Watch that radar because there may be periods of very heavy rain. Keep in mind that highs will rise to the low 90s and drink plenty of water. Residents are advised to retreat indoors when thunder roars.

Rip currents and waves as high as two to three feet pose a moderate risk to beach areas. Storms will easily move toward the beaches, posing a risk for lightning. The chances of storms are higher to the south, but northern beaches are highly possible to be dry.

Today and tomorrow, dry air keeps the likelihood of rain in Metro Orlando at 30% to 40% or possibly less. By the end of the work week, a new pattern will cause a 70% increase in rain showers and thunderstorms. Experts advise everyone to always stay hydrated for any outdoor activities because temperatures will rise to the mid-90s.

A broad trough of low pressure a few hundred miles south and southeast of Bermuda continues to produce scattered clouds and showers. This system is not anticipated to develop significantly because the environmental conditions are predicted to remain unfavorable. Over the next few days, the disturbance is expected to slowly move northward or north-northwestward.

Everyone is being reminded by experts that September 10 marks the beginning of hurricane season. It is best to remain alert, monitor the weather, and stay current, Fox35 Orlando reports.
