Thunderstorms Cap the Holiday Weekend in Central Michigan

These storms will be able to drop significant amounts of rain showers. After the evening Fourth of July fireworks, thunderstorms are expected to build up.

With highs reaching close to 90, today, July 4th will be the hottest day for the next seven days. These temperatures will, at best, reach highs in the lower to middle 80s on Tuesday.

Central Michigan Seven Days From Now

High pressure should be able to keep things dry during the day on Wednesday, but showers and thunderstorms will be possible again Wednesday night and Thursday. A strong to severe storm may form here as well, but this is not guaranteed.

The pattern is favorable for thunderstorm clusters to form and produce damaging winds, but the path of these stronger storms appears to be south and west of central Michigan at this time.

Highs will be near 80 degrees on Wednesday and in the lower 80s on Thursday.

Friday through next Sunday is expected to be dry and mostly sunny, with afternoon temperatures ranging between 78° and 84°. This should make for a pleasant July second weekend. Low temperatures in the 50s will also be ideal for sleeping.

Overall, the weather in central Michigan has been fairly typical for early July, with some dry days and storm chances on other days. The normal high temperature for this time of year in Mount Pleasant is 84°, and the normal low temperature is 61°, so any nighttime low in the 50s is cooler than normal but very comfortable.

Air Quality in Central Michigan

According to AccuWeather, most people find the air quality to be satisfactory. Long-term exposure, however, may cause minor to moderate symptoms in sensitive groups.

10-Day Forecast

Mid-Mitten Morning View from the Morning Sun forecast temperature for the day to reach near the 90s, being the hottest day for the next seven days.

Temperatures will plunge to the low 80s from Tuesday to Thursday. Friday may reach an even lower temperature at 78 degrees. The weekend temperature takes a further dive into the 50s during the night.

The Weather Channel forecasts the following week, July 11 to have partly cloudy skies in the morning and a 44% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms during the night. Temperature lows may reach 65°.

Tuesday, July 12 is slightly warmer during the day at 86° but colder during the night at 64°.

Temperatures take another dip on Wednesday with temperatures reaching 83° during the day and a chilling 61° during the night.

Thursday and Friday temperatures continue to descend at 82° and 81° respectively during the day. It gets cooler at night as Thursday gets 59° and Friday night is even colder at 58°.

Saturday weather mimics Thursday's weather at 82° during the day and 59° at night.

The temperature in Central Michigan picks up on Sunday, July 17, with 85° during the morning and 61° during the evening.

On the last day of this 10-day forecast, Monday, July 18 will have partly cloudy skies with a daytime temperature of 85° and 62° during the night.
