Watch: Real Life Tom and Jerry As Rat Chasing Cat Goes Viral [Video]

A video posted on Chinese social media site Sino Weibo showed a rat chasing a cat -- a role reversal made classic by the cartoon duo Tom and Jerry.

And while Jerry always gets the last laugh in the cartoon series, social media users who saw the video are not impressed, with many angry at the cat owner for letting the "filthy" rat bite the poor kitty.

The video was posted by Daily Mail on Facebook on May 19. It has so far more than 600,000 shares and more than 88,000 comments.

However, those comments are not all friendly. Despite the comic factor of the video, many netizens were pissed at the owner for letting the rat bite the cat, adding that it may give the feline diseases.

"Disgusting that you keep a house this dirty and disgusting that you thought it was funny to video your cat getting attacked. You shouldn't be allowed a pet," said one Facebook comment.

Another slammed the owner for taking a video of the incident, rather than helping the cat. "Why on earth is she filming this [...] surely she should be helping her cat rather than watching it get distressed by this [...] so sad that people see this sort of thing as funny to watch," said another comment.

Looks like Tom and Jerry in real life may not be all that funny after all.
