The Guardian's previous report, on December 8, showed that the temperatures in the UK could peak -at 10c at night, raising concerns over families with no heating at home.

The heating system could be expensive.

Meanwhile, the news report added that older people could be the most vulnerable.

With the alert level 3, the report said it would require social services for the affected people.

The previous forecast also said the cold weather could persist until December 12, and then it is expected that warm weather could emerge on Tuesday, helping many UK residents to alleviate the colder weather.

On the other hand, in the Guardian's recent report on December 8,  the Met Office said that widespread frost could emerge at the end of the week when ice and snow could unfold in northern England and Northern Scotland.

Portions of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England could expect snow and ice warnings.

Motorists traveling this week are also advised to check the weather before traveling.

The cold weather could cause slow commutes and travel delays.

Dangerous travel is possible due to icy conditions and the accumulation of snow.

Cold Weather and health risks

In the previous report, homeless people could be vulnerable to colder and freezing weather.

The report noted that emergency accommodations are also provided for shelter to homeless people.

Anyone finding a homeless on the streets could report to the Streetlink app for immediate assistance.

The Guardian reported that many people in the UK could not afford a heating system at home, making them more vulnerable to health risks.

A Joseph Rowntree Foundation's research revealed that households or families could not afford the extra cost of heating and warm clothing, especially in this colder weather.

UK Power Supply

Meanwhile, the dwindling UK power supply is also a main concern, showing that the power is stretched, which could result in blackouts.

According to The Guardian, the cabinet minister, Oliver Dowden, explained that they monitor the situation, adding confidence in the UK power facilities to supply power throughout the winter season.

This week could expect a temperature drop, causing frost and colder weather.

The evening could reach freezing weather, and wearing warm clothes would help to alleviate the chilly weather.

Households should check their family members for potential prolonged cold exposure, which could result in cold-related health risks.

If your home has a heating system, it is best to conserve power during the day.
