Central Arizona, Montana, Wyoming Forecast: Snow, Slippery Commutes Likely to Unfold Midweek

The latest weather advisory showed that a snowy outlook could unload in Central Arizona, Montana and Wyoming this week. In the Intermountain West, higher-elevation snow is also likely.

Motorists with travel plans should stay alert for Winter Warnings and Advisories in the US. Recently, the NWS Weather Prediction Center reported a flash flood threat and heavy rain in Southern California.

The winter conditions in the US brought challenging commutes and travel disruption, with blizzard threats and extreme cold. In this week's weather, cold-related health concerns and slower commutes are possible.

Central Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado Forecast

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snowbands and heavier snowfall are likely in parts of Montana. East of the Rockies and Northern Plains can anticipate the colder air and expanding area of snow.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall could unload in central and northern California. Residents in low-lying areas are vulnerable to flooding and wet conditions, including in the Mogollon Rim of Arizona.

In the higher elevation areas, additional heavy snowfall could unload in the Sierra Nevada, Peninsular Ranges, and Transverse Ranges. Meanwhile, light to moderate snowfall is likely in the Northern Coastal Ranges of California and Cascades.

In the mountainous areas in Wasatch and central Arizona, people can anticipate heavy snow. Locally heavy snow showers are also possible in Nebraska, east-central and southeast Wyoming. Snow outlook can also unload in the Carbon County and High Plains.

Homeowners can also anticipate the strong westerly winds chill this week. Wind gusts can reach 60 mph. The advisory warned of reduced road visibility.

People should stay alert Winter Weather Advisory in northwest Wyoming on Thursday morning. On Friday, the colder temperatures will unfold with the cold front. Hypothermia and frostbite can likely threaten people's health, particularly children and older adults.

In parts of Colorado, the forecast reported a strong Pacific stormy system, bringing widespread snow. Snow concerns can emerge in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Continental Divide.

A chance of isolated snow showers and thunderstorms are likely that could bring challenging winds. People should watch out for power outages and potential tree damage.

In the southwestern US, the forecast warned of snowy weather this late week until the weekend. In the late week, snow conditions are expected in the following areas:
