In New York and New England, residents can feel the blast of colder air and icy conditions. The forecast warned of cold-related health concerns and travel disruptions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), eastern to southern Texas can experience locally heavy rains on Friday. On Friday, the mixture of rain and snow could unload in the Northwestern US, especially in Western Washington.

The advisory added that the Great Lakes region can experience snow showers and light rain in the late week. Residents in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan can likely see potential snowfall on Friday.

Over Oregon and Washington, a rainy outlook with light mountain snow is expected. The forecast is monitoring another Pacific storm system in the region that could bring more rain in the Northwest. One to two inches of rain is possible in the Coastal range.

Over the South-Central US, residents can experience a round of heavy rain. On Saturday, the rainy period can cause slower travel and drought relief in the region.

In addition, homeowners should watch out for rainy periods on the weekend. The precipitation is expected in the following areas:

  • Brownsville

The rain can also ease the fire and fog concerns in the South-Central US, especially in New Orleans. On Friday, the threat of heavy rains is forecast in the following areas:

  • Odessa

The National Weather Service monitors a cold front in the Northeast to Texas. Forecasts noted that temperatures can likely drop this week in the region, including in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Residents can experience locally heavy rain this weekend, from two to four inches.

Weather in the Western US: What Can People Expect?

In the Western US, the advisory warned of Critical Risk of fire in the region. Fire concerns can emerge in Los Angeles counties and Ventura. The warmer temperatures and low relative humidity can cause the fire.

The forecast showed that wind gusts could reach 40 to 50 mph.
