Weather Cooldown, Possible Snow to Unfold in Western US This Week

According to the latest advisories, the upper-level ridge will help with the temperatures in the Southwest, including in the Northern Intermountain Region. In the Pacific Northwest, rounds of rain are expected this week.

In the latest forecast, the heat will stay this week. It will bring record highs and dry conditions. Hotter conditions will likely emerge in the following areas:

• Odessa
• El Paso
• Phoenix
• San Diego
• Los Angeles
• Las Vegas
• Cedar City
• Fresno
• San Francisco

However, the relief is on the way with chances of snow. The weather pattern change will be significant to ease the heat by next week. The strong cold front will drive the colder air in the region.

The relief will be felt on the weekend in Redding, San Francisco, Fresno, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Meanwhile, the hotter outlook in other areas could be challenging for older adults.

The colder air could unfold starting Monday. Snow lovers can expect a chance of snow in high-elevation areas, including in Southern California, Oregon Cascades and Sierra Nevada.

Meanwhile, scattered rain could unload in the Northwestern US in the late week. Next week, colder conditions can be possible in the following areas:

• Seattle
• Spokane
• Boise
• Medford
• San Francisco
• Las Vegas
• Cedar City

The snow potential can be likely in Helena, Casper, Denver and Grand Junction. The snow in mountainous areas can be difficult for campers and hikers.

Furthermore, the snow accumulation can be troublesome for motorists. Slower commutes to travel disruptions can occur due to reduced road visibility and slippery road conditions.
