Gatorland helped rescue the alligator with poor health conditions and injuries. The jawless alligator became viral on social media, and many Facebook users sent their sympathies to the animal.

The Florida alligator is now in good condition and the care of concerned rescuers. People treated the alligator as a national treasure after she captivated the hearts of many animal lovers.

In addition, the alligator's name inspired many people who provided their name suggestions. According to the Gatorland announcement, the gator received an exciting welcome, and people were in love seeing the animal.

The injured alligator recently became viral after a concerned person spotted the animal with her jaw noticeably missing. The unfortunate condition of the gator was first seen near Sanford, Florida, in August.

The jawless alligator could result from a bite from another alligator or hunting. After the news broke on the internet, search and rescue were launched to save the alligator.

People are advised to report immediately if they spot a stray alligator. In Florida, the report noted that there are about 1.3 million alligators in the state.

In September's report, people caught a massive alligator weighing more than 900 pounds in Florida. The discovery is considered the second heaviest found in Florida.

American Alligator: Interesting Facts

The American alligator is also known as Alligator mississippiensis. The huge-looking animal can be recognizable by their armored body with black colors, living about 50 years. Unlike crocodiles, alligators have at least 74 to 80 sharp teeth.

In terms of the size, the male gator is bigger than the female. Males can reach up to 454 kilograms. To attain dominance and potential mates, the male alligators can roar. When the mother alligator produces her young, the animal can make nests with vegetation.

Alligators in the country are not endangered. They can be found in areas in North Carolina, Florida and Texas. The massive animal thrives in freshwater areas and slow-moving rivers in the US.

According to the report, the alligator population has suffered from different threats: habitat loss, wetland destruction, climate change, extreme weather events and destruction of alligator's nest.

The said animals can regulate their temperatures, especially during the challenging winter season. They can also move to warmer areas or waters to live.

The green-looking color of the alligator is due to algae. Furthermore, protecting American alligators is essential to avoid potential population declines.
