Following a period of unseasonably warm weather, the UK will experience strong winds, heavy rain, flooding, and snow.

Northeastern England and the east of Scotland are under yellow weather warnings until Friday at 6 p.m.

From early morning until three o'clock, an amber rain warning was issued for Scotland's northeast.

In addition, there are 88 flood alerts and 11 flood warnings in effect in England.

Due to localized flooding on Friday morning, all schools in Brechin, Montrose, Kirriemuir, and more than a dozen other locations were closed.

The flooding forced the closure of an M9 westbound lane at J2, and in Fife, the closure of the A92 between the Parbroath Crossroads and Melville Lodges.

Scotland has also received five severe flood alerts for Kintore, Kemnay, Inverurie, Ballater, and Aberdeen (Dee). A severe flood warning means that some roads will become "impassable" and that "extensive flooding is expected to properties and businesses."

Tom Morgan, a meteorologist with the Met Office, predicted that more than 100mm of rain would fall in the areas covered by the amber warning. "We anticipate some flooding with this amount of precipitation," he said. Transportation may be affected, including ferries and the road system.

He added that there might be some flooding in the yellow warning areas. 9C to 11C, which is more typical for this time of year, will be the range of temperatures.

The weekend's weather, according to Mr. Morgan, will be "quite clear" with a chance of snow.

Over high ground, in the Scottish hills, and in the Pennines, we might see the first snowflakes of the autumn season. After Sunday, there is more uncertainty than usual, said Mr. Morgan.

It might rain occasionally and be quite windy, and it will probably be quite unsettling.

Scotland has experienced flooding and heavy rain, and after severe flood warnings were issued on Friday, some areas of Aberdeenshire saw the opening of rest centers.

The northeast region of the country has experienced severe weather, and the local council has advised residents to take precautions to protect their homes.

Report of woman swept into River Don

Police have reported that a woman was swept into the River Don in Aberdeenshire as severe flooding hit Scotland, as per Sky News.

Police and rescue personnel are on the scene where it's thought the person was attempting to save a dog.

In response to reports of concern for a woman in the water, police were called to the River Don near Monymusk on Friday, November 18, at 3:05 p.m., according to a Police Scotland spokesperson.

Police investigations are ongoing. "Police and Emergency Services responded and searches were conducted. Following assessments of the river conditions, the search has been stood down for the evening."

Rest centers will open in Ballater, Aboyne, Inverurie, and Kemnay for those in need of assistance who are unable to remain in their homes, and road maps detailing closures due to flooding have been distributed.

Sandbag points have been established in the area to protect it from floodwaters after Aberdeenshire Council issued a warning that river levels will peak later on Friday.

Inverurie, Kintore, Stonehaven, Portlethen, and Hatton of Fintray are also experiencing power outages, and there are also reports of broadband issues.
