Scientists: Plastic Beads Could Save the Lives of Aquatic Creatures

Beads add little weight to fishing gear but might prevent the death of thousands of aquatic creatures. Experts believe simple plastic beads could save thousands of porpoises and other cetaceans that are entangled in fishing nets each year. In order to make the nets visible to sea creatures using echolocation, researchers came up with a new design.
