Researchers are concerned about U.S. salamanders contracting a deadly skin disease that has caused major die-offs in Europe. As a result, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has listed 201 salamanders as injurious wildlife under the Lacey Act.
Lumber Liquidators was recently caught illegally importing hardwood flooring made of trees collected from the habitats of engendered Siberian tigers and Amur leopards. The company has since plead guilty and has agreed to more than $13 million in fines.
