As Christmas Season is arriving in a few days, the latest weather forecast warned that a developing storm could unload strong winds and wintry weather this Christmas.

Christmas season is in the air as many Americans begin to decorate their homes, while many are rushing to the supermarkets and malls to complete their Christmas preparations.

The severe weather conditions with snow and rain became the main challenge last week as many Americans had to deal with slowed commutes and significant travel delays.

The blast of Arctic air also helped to bring colder temperatures in portions of the United States, which heating systems are important to ease the cold weather.

Wearing important winter clothes could save you from the extra cost of heating, while many resorts to turning off their heating due to high prices.

Rain and snow before Christmas

The arctic air would bring temperatures colder than usual until the weekend.

AccuWeather's latest forecast reported that a developing storm could impact portions of the United States.

The report said the storm could unload heavy snow, strong winds and torrential rainfall as Americans prepare for the holiday.

The weather outlook showed that a potential snowstorm could develop and unload from Thursday to Friday.

The snowstorm could be expected in Kansas City, Chicago, Indianapolis, Nashville, Toronto and Montreal.

However, the report noted that the storm could also affect portions of the Midwest and southern Plains.

  • Denver residents could also notice an accumulation of snow starting Thursday.
  • AccuWeather reported that the potential storm could also bring rain and snow in portions of Southeast States from Thursday (December 22) to Saturday (December 24).
  • The forecast also added that snow could unfold in St. Louis, Nashville, Dallas and Atlanta. Meanwhile, wintry weather could also unleash in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Detroit.

Residents or motorists traveling to the affected areas should monitor the weather for travel hazards.

According to the forecast, AccuWeather meteorologists have been monitoring the weather, during which a potentially major storm could develop and impact portions of the South Central States and Northeast.

Travel outlook

AccuWeather's travel outlook showed that some portions of the United States could record good to poor travel conditions.

  • On Thursday, the report said a poor travel outlook could unfold in Chicago, Philadelphia and Seattle.
  • Poor travel outlook is also expected in Los Angeles and Phoenix.
  • Meanwhile, fair travel conditions could unveil in Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta and Boston.
  • On Friday, the forecast said New York, Detroit, Charlotte and Seattle could expect poor travel conditions.
  • Houston and Los Angeles are forecasted to have good travel conditions. Meanwhile, Denver and Salt Lake City could expect a fair travel outlook.

On the other hand, the forecast explained that portions of south-central Plains, Midwest and Northeast states could expect snow, resulting in slippery roads.

Motorists traveling to the said areas should watch out for poor visibility due to snow.

The forecast also warned that blizzard conditions could potentially emerge in portions of Central States.

Residents in the Central States should look into potential heavy snow, severe thunderstorms, strong winds and flooding.
