Cancer is a scare that nobody wants to face. This illness comes with a sheer force that allows it to draw up barriers after barriers, resisting the processes of chemo-therapy and all other cancer-eliminating practices.

But according to the famous Jason Hope, a well-known phenomenon, death-resistant cells might just be what the medical world needs.

Cancer resistance is a complex phenomenon, according to Jason Hope, which can be eliminated with the help of cell death inhibition. Many well-known scientists and research universities are researching this influence.

Jason Hope believes that with the right determination and knowledge, the medical world can finally crack the code and work against the stubborn cancer cells.

Let's see how that is humanly possible!

Death Resistant Cells - What You Need to Know

When talking about death-resistant cells, there are different ways to comprehend this concept.

In simple layman's terms, death-resistant cells refer to the loss of cells as a human body goes through different changes and ages. This loss of cells is not due to any specific abnormality. It's just how a human body works.

Besides this analogy, we have another one. Death-resistant cells take place when vertebrate cells fail to perform their function. And what function is that? The reproduction process. Yes, that's right. Certain cells will fail to perform this task due to the limited period of cells in culture.

These cells will be devoid of any mitosis, but they continue to stay in a postmitotic state.

According to Jason Hope, the human body cells are not immortal. They come with a ticking clock, and they will cease to exist one day, and this period could either be years or even a few days.

The last set of definitions of these death-resistant cells is pretty intriguing. Sometimes the cells in our body get damaged. They don't get a chance to be a part of our skin or our liver. They simply get ruined.

One example of this damage is nobody's favorite - the C-word, also known as Cancer.

When cancer hits a body with its full mighty force, it will push certain cells to diverge around. And this free movement ultimately leads to a process that causes uncontrolled growth, causing the building-up of a tumor. Now, our body is programmed in such a way that it will not accept such intrusion easily.

According to Jason Hope, our body works in such a way that will cause such dangerous cells to die automatically. And this whole process is known as Apoptosis.

However, Jason says that there is another programming that will initially keep the cell alive and working, restricting the uncontrolled growth of the cell.

These senescent cells are beneficial for the body but only when they are in a limited ratio. If their size grows, they will be, according to Jason Hope, detrimental to the health of a human being.

Jason Hope's Insights on How Senescent Cells Cause Cancer

These Senescent Cells are the perfect example of an enemy in disguise. According to the research done by Jason Hope, they go through a specific process before destroying the human body from within.

This process will involve

  • Providing a supportive role to our organs in the initial stages.

  •  The built-in programming will limit the diverging spread of the Senescent Cells for a short period.

  • However, after a passage of time, these cells will eventually find their way through proteins that are nothing but bad news for your body.

  • Via this, these Senescent Cells build over time, cause major inflammation in the body, and destroy the healthy tissue in our body.

  • According to Jason Hope, tissues that contain a considerably large amount of these cells will lead to inflammation and eventually Cancer!

Advancements Made to Tackle the Growth of Senescent Cells

To tackle this dangerous advancement of Senescent Cells, two options can opt. One is the more practical way; developing a drug that will nullify all the toxic cells and stay away from the healthy ones.

This, according to Jason Hope, is the selective killing of cells. Oncologists are already carrying out such a practice. This type of practice will target the abnormal cells and make space for the healthy ones to grow. And this is how one prevents illnesses like cancer from taking place.

Besides manufacturing a drug that's beneficial in more than one way, research is also being carried out by the scientists of the University of Arizona. These sets of scientists are looking for ways to promote a healthy immune system in mice.

This they will do by eliminating useless and harmful immune cells named "anergic T-cells". This elimination will lead to the freeing up of space for healthy cells to take place. The same process a drug would carry.

According to Jason Hope, the researchers of the Arizona University, hope to produce some sort of killer T-cells that will provide the mice's immune system a much-needed boost.

Ph.D. candidate Kevin Perrott is carrying out research, studying how molecules affect Senescent Cells and the overall immune system.

According to Jason Hope, these researchers are working long and steady nights testing a bunch of compounds that have the capability of singling out and targeting Senescent Cells.

But the research is going to take its time, and even though these scientists hope to find a way towards killing these cells, it's not going to happen over time and will for sure take its sweet time. Until then, unfortunately, these Senescent Cells will continue to take place and destroy a healthy and perfectly working immune system.

Death Resistant Cells Provide Us With a Solution As Per Jason Hope

All these research programs are not in vain, though. Scientists are working day and night to find a loophole that will solve this mind-triggering mystery. Nick Schaum in the Campisi lab is also carrying out his research with the help of the generous funding of the SENS Research Foundation. Nick is mainly targeting understanding how cell build-up and their programming can lead to illnesses and looking for ways that will keep Senescent Cells under control.

What Does the Research Say?

All these research programs will be looking out for a drug that's only targeting the toxic cells and finding out ways that will boost up the immune system.

According to Jason Hope, if these researches are successful, abnormal cells can be stopped from wreaking havoc. Thes advancement in biotechnologies will nullify, treat, and avoid the harmful effects caused by these abnormal cells.

The Bottom Line According to Jason Hope

The elimination of Senescent Cells comes with a list of pros and cons. Furthermore, many ethical issues have been raised regarding the processes being carried out.

However, with the rise of these abnormal cells and the widespread of Cancer, it is more crucial than before to either find a way that will give our immune systems the hoist that it needs or to manufacture a drug that will solve the problem.

Let's just hope that all these findings and research do lead to biotechnologies that are helpful and will bring change to the scientific world and revolutionize medicine.
