Luke Lazarus Partners with Father to Improve Sydney Area Hotels

In the Sydney area, there are plenty of important hotels that have long been a part of their communities. The major hotels in the area host countless community events, and they're a part of the heartbeat of their neighborhoods. For the last 30 years, Andrew Lazarus has been involved in real estate development for these hotels. And now, his son Luke Lazarus is working with him in their mission to improve the major hotels in the Newcastle and Sydney areas. 

Hotel Improvements

Andrew Lazarus and his company, Eastern Hotels Group, have been purchasing amazing hotels and improving them so that they are better able to serve the community. The company has purchased the Exchange Hotel and has made it into a top space for live music. The Lazarus family purchased Vaucluse Home and held it for 20 years before selling it. Eastern Hotels Group has purchased the Macquarie Hotel and improved its usability as a gaming pub. It's now the top gaming pub in the area. The Shoal Bay's Country Club was purchased, and significant renovations were made to it to make it more family-friendly. The company bought The Beaches Hotel, a landmark in the area, and updated it so that it looks modern and is more structurally secure. 

Hotels and Communities

Early on in his career, Andrew Lazarus renovated hotels to conform to a certain vision of them. This didn't take into account the way the community used the hotels and what they wanted from them. Today, Andrew Lazarus along with Luke Lazarus undertake each renovation with a clear eye to the community and what they need from the hotels. They work to preserve what is great about hotels while adding improvements to make them work better with the community. This approach has made the company highly successful, and the Sydney area benefits from the improved properties. It also benefits from the community events that Andrew Lazarus manages. He believes that people should be involved more deeply in their communities. 

Decades of Success

Andrew Lazarus has been in business for 30 years, and he doesn't intend to slow down now. He has brought family members in to help with the business, including son Luke. Luke is a long-time entrepreneur, having started his first business at just eight years old. He has spent 20 years running his own businesses, and he brings that success and entrepreneurial spirit to his father's company. The family has long embraced the entrepreneurial spirit, and it continues as Luke is brought into the business to keep it going just as strong.

As he is getting closer to retirement age, Andrew Lazarus has spent more of his time on philanthropic work and community service in the Sydney area.
