Ancient Tsunami Struck the Falkland Islands, Scientists Speculate
Scientists are speculating that the Falkland Islands could experience a major tsunami in the future. They think that an ancient tsunami occurred from seafloor slope failures that occurred in the distant past, located at the British Overseas Territory's southern side. Computer models showed how underwater landslides could have sent waves that are at least ten metres in height to crash on to the coastline.
