East Palestine, Ohio, on February 4, 2023.

Residents near the site could be in grave danger due to the possibility of explosions and health risks.

According to the latest report, AccuWeather and CNN reported that evacuations and crews were deployed to put out the fire from the derailed train cars in East Palestine.

Businesses and schools were temporarily closed due to the incident.

However, the situation became more challenging due to the threat of toxic gas and harmful chemicals that the train contained.

As a result, people near the 1-mile-by-2-mile over East Palestine should consider evacuating due to threats of severe injuries and lung damage.

CNN added that authorities conducted a door-to-door approach to communities to convince them to evacuate due to the possible risk.

According to NBC News, the report found out that the five train cars have vinyl chloride.

On the other hand, CNN explained that mechanical issues could happen in train cars.

The hazardous chemicals can result in toxic fumes and a chance of exploding. The materials can cause harmful burning that can last for hours.

NBC explained that the train cars have materials that could increase cancer risk.

Emergency plans have been ongoing to address the fire in the affected train cars.

As the authorities are working to solve the problem, residents in the affected areas are advised to return once the issue is finally addressed.

Regarding how long it would solve and clean the toxic chemicals, the report noted that it would take four to six weeks.
