According to scientists, the Trump presidency could bring the Earth closer to global warming of over seven degrees Celsius within a lifetime, which could mean “game over” for the Earth’s climate.
Researchers are able to find out more on earth's past climate with the help of ice cores. In the National Ice Core Laboratory at Lakewood, extracted ice from the depths of Antarctica and Greenland is sliced up, photographed and tested. The ice is sent to other labs where researchers experiment in them in order to find out details about the earth's past and future.
Geoengineering, or the large-scale manipulation of the Earth's climate, is not the solution to climate change, according to new research. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to the global climate problem, and curbing carbon emissions is really our best bet to combat its effects.
