The latest weather forecast reported that storm surge warning is in effect in parts of Florida's Gulf Coast as Hurricane Idalia unleashed challenging weather conditions.

On the East Coast, the forecast noted that Hurricane Franklin could bring challenging waves and weather outlook.

Americans with travel plans this week should monitor the latest weather forecasts in Florida, Southeast and East Coast. The troublesome weather conditions could likely result in slower commutes and travel disruptions.

The development of challenging hurricanes in the U.S. is expected to unleash dangerous impacts, including the following:

  • Storm surge
  • Flooding
  • Urban flooding and flash flooding
  • Strong winds
  • Widespread power outages.

Recently, parts of the U.S. recorded high temperatures, especially in the Central portions. While the weather could provide relief, keeping updated with weather dangers is best.

Hurricane Idalia passed offshore in Tarpon Springs, Florida. A storm surge warning is in effect in parts of Florida as Hurricane Idalia brought severe weather conditions this week. On the East Coast, the weather forecast said that Hurricane Franklin could unleash rip currents and strong waves.

According to the National Weather Service's (NWS) latest advisory, possible storm surges and waves could hit parts of Aucilla River and Yankeetown, Florida, including in parts of the Florida Panhandle and Eastern Carolinas.

Residents should stay alert for potential flooding concerns, especially for people near flood-prone areas or rivers.

Furthermore, strong winds could be a concern in the Big Bend region in Florida and Southern Georgia. The life-threatening winds could likely blow away and destroy trees and power lines.

The NWS Eastern Region reported that Hurricane Idalia, maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, was tracked northwest of Waycross, GA, moving at 20 mph in the Northeast.

In the Southeast, the latest forecast showed that Hurricane Idalia could likely bring flooding concerns and chances of tornadoes in parts of the Southeast.

Until September 1, residents can expect rainy conditions in the following areas:

  • Virginia Beach
  • Wilmington
  • Savannah
  • Jacksonville
  • Tampa
  • Havana
  • Cancun

This coming Thursday, power outages and strong winds could be possible in the said areas: Charleston, Tallahassee, Jacksonville and Fort Myers.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned of developing hurricanes week. Residents are advised to watch out for damaged buildings and power lines.

On Thursday, tornado can be possible in the following areas:

  • Orlando
  • Tampa
  • Savannah
  • Charleston
  • Jacksonville
  • Tallahassee

Hurricane Franklin

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported that Hurricane Franklin would likely bring challenging waves and rip currents as it impacted parts of the Western Atlantic.

Hurricane Franklin is expected to cause dangerous conditions in parts of Bermuda. Weather forecasts explained that Franklin is considered one of the first significant hurricanes that developed in the Atlantic season.

Franklin is expected to result in localized coastal flooding and impacts in the following areas this week:

  • Jacksonville
  • Charleston
  • Wilmington
  • Virginia Beach
  • Ocean City
  • Montauk
